Are you a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys variety in your workday Were looking for a Commercial Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair commercial properties throughout the Grand Rapids area. This mobile role offers a company-provided vehicle tools and the opportunity to work independently while delivering exceptional service to customers.
As a Commercial Maintenance Technician youll travel to multiple commercial properties performing preventative maintenance troubleshooting repairs and general building maintenance. Youll utilize your skills across multiple trades to keep facilities operating safely efficiently and looking their best while providing outstanding customer service.
Perform preventative maintenance corrective repairs and general building maintenance
Troubleshoot and repair plumbing systems including toilets urinals faucets flush valves and fixtures
Complete drywall repairs painting patching and finish work to maintain professional building appearance
Repair and maintain walls doors flooring ceilings and other building components
Perform minor electrical repairs including replacing light fixtures switches outlets ballasts sockets and lamps as permitted by state regulations
Complete routine inspections of building systems and equipment
Use a tablet or smartphone to receive update and complete work orders
Document completed work inspections service reports and photos
Order and obtain materials needed to complete repairs
Build strong relationships with customers through professional communication and quality workmanship
Participate in safety training and maintain compliance with company and OSHA standards
Provide repair estimates for larger maintenance projects
Respond to occasional after-hours evening or weekend service needs
2-5 years of commercial building maintenance experience
Experience with plumbing electrical carpentry painting and general building repairs
Working knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical equipment
Ability to troubleshoot and complete preventative maintenance independently
Strong customer service and communication skills
Comfortable using mobile technology tablets and work order management systems
Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or trade certifications are a plus
Commercial facilities maintenance
Building mechanical systems
HVAC plumbing or electrical experience
OSHA safety knowledge
Experience working in a mobile service environment
Company vehicle and tools provided
