Travel Pharmacist Hospital Setting
Location: Hyannis Massachusetts 02601
Schedule: Primarily Night Shift 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Occasional Evening Shift 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM
Weekly Hours: 40 Hours
Contract Duration: 6 Months with strong potential for extension or permanent placement
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Travel Pharmacist to support a hospital pharmacy team in a fast-paced clinical environment. This role is responsible for ensuring safe accurate and effective medication preparation dispensing and clinical support services while maintaining compliance with all applicable pharmacy regulations and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare dispense and manage medications in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Review physician medication orders for accuracy dosage interactions and appropriateness
- Compound pharmaceuticals including IV admixtures and TPN solutions as needed
- Provide clinical drug information and medication consultation to healthcare professionals
- Ensure proper medication labeling storage handling and documentation
- Support medication distribution processes across patient care units
- Perform order-entry and clinical pharmacy support during assigned shifts
- Supervise and delegate responsibilities to pharmacy support staff when appropriate
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies safety standards and quality initiatives
- Deliver excellent service and collaboration with patients families nurses and providers
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy program
- Active Pharmacist license in the State of Massachusetts
- Strong understanding of medication safety dosage calculations and compatibility
- Ability to work independently in a hospital or clinical pharmacy environment
- Experience with IV compounding and pharmaceutical calculations preferred
- Familiarity with pharmacy systems and medication management technology
