Minor Civils Supervisor

Position: Minor Civils Supervisor
Location:Crawley Depot (Sussex Region)
Job Type:permanent full time
Hours:Monday to Friday 50 hours per week (start times to be discussed on interview)
Salary:17.50 - 20.00 per hour (depending on experience)

The Minor Civils Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of civils crews delivering minor highways works. The role ensures works are completed safely compliantly on time and to client standards while maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage bothHGV and non-HGV civils crews ensuring productivity quality and safety standards are met at all times.
- Plan monitor and manageincoming works and backlog jobs ensuring effective prioritisation and resource allocation.
- Maintain fullteam compliance including adherence to health & safety company procedures and client requirements.
- Complete and recordsafety audits inspections and toolbox talks addressing any non-conformances promptly.
- Conductinvestigation meetings including those that may lead to formal disciplinary action in line with company policy.
- Update and managesickness and absence recordsaccurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage and approveteam holidays via Cascade ensuring adequate operational cover at all times.
- Liaise with clients regularly attendingface-to-face meetings and Microsoft Teams meetingsto discuss performance progress and issues.
- Ensure compliance withhighways permitting processes coordinating works to meet permit conditions and deadlines.
- Build and maintainstrong working relationshipswith clients crews subcontractors and internal departments.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in asupervisory role within civils or highways works.
- Strong working knowledge ofhighways permitting processes.
- Ability to manage mixed crews includingHGV and non-HGV teams.
- Confident in usingMicrosoft Office packages(Outlook Excel Word Teams).
- Experience handlingabsence management holidays and compliance records.
- Able to carry out investigations and managepeople-related issues professionally and fairly.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Street Works (NRSWA) card required (training can be provided if not currently held).
- Relevant civils or highways qualification (desirable but not essential).
