Job Summary
Job Title: Automation Engineer
Location: Concord NC
Job Overview:
We are looking for a hands-on Automation Engineer with a strong foundation in process engineering and real-time production support within aseptic manufacturing. This role focuses on optimizing sterile filling processes supporting operations on the floor and ensuring smooth integration between process and automation systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide floor-based automation and process support for aseptic filling operations
- Troubleshoot production issues with a focus on process performance and system efficiency
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to PLCs HMIs and batch systems to minimize downtime
- Support prefilled syringe filling lines and associated equipment
- Collaborate with and guide production technicians and support staff
- Assist in deviation investigations CAPAs and change control activities
- Drive continuous improvement in process performance and equipment reliability
- Ensure compliance with cGMP and aseptic manufacturing standards
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on production support experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in aseptic or sterile manufacturing
- Proficiency with:
- Rockwell Studio 5000
- FactoryTalk SE (Site Edition)
- FactoryTalk Batch
- Experience with automated filling lines (prefilled syringes preferred)
- Strong troubleshooting skills across PLCs HMIs and batch systems
- Experience with Optima filling equipment is a plus
- Background in fill-finish / sterile drug product manufacturing
- Experience with high-speed packaging or inspection systems
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of process equipment interaction in aseptic environments
- Ability to work on the production floor and support cross-functional teams
