JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and plan in accordance with applicable design specifications. Projects may include various bridge types such as steel plate girder prestressed concrete girder and reinforced concrete slab structures.
- Conduct structural analysis to ensure the strength and safety of highway structures
- Prepare structural designs and contract documents including drawings specifications and estimates
- Participate in preparing project budgets and schedules
- Perform calculations for designing bridges and transportation structures using AutoCAD and/or specialized bridge design software
Qualifications :
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- A copy of transcripts must be submitted with resume
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a structural major or emphasis
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or specialized bridge design software
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with co-workers and clients both in verbal and written form
- Knowledge of Prestressed Concrete is preferred
- Knowledge of layout and design of bridges and highway structures is preferred
