Job Summary

About the Role

St Peters Lutheran College is seeking an experienced Payroll Adviser to deliver accurate compliant and highquality endtoend payroll services in a busy and complex environment.

This is a handson senior payroll role that combines technical subjectmatter expertise with daytoday payroll administration. Reporting to theDirector People and Cultureyou will play a critical role in ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time while also providing expert payroll advice compliance assurance and continuous improvement of payroll processes.

You will work closely with the Colleges external payroll provider and internal stakeholders and will be directly involved in payroll processing activities including fortnightly payroll cycles outofcycle payments terminations reconciliations and query resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handson delivery of accurate and timely endtoend payroll services including fortnightly payroll runs adjustments and terminations
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation awards enterprise agreements and statutory obligations
  • Providing expert payroll advice responding to payroll queries and supporting leaders and staff across the College
  • Maintaining payroll system integrity data security quality assurance controls and records management
  • Liaising with the external payroll provider and relevant government agencies
  • Driving improvements to payroll processes systems and controls through identification and implementation

What You Bring

You are an experienced payroll professional who can work hands on in day-to-day payroll administration and service delivery while also operating as a trusted payroll adviser. You bring strong technical payroll knowledge high level attention to detail sound professional judgement and a demonstrated commitment to integrity confidentiality and service excellence.

Experience in a medium to large organisation with the ability to interpret enterprise agreements and manage complex employment conditions will be highly regarded.

You will also have strong knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements and the ability to build effective working relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
