EHS Specialist

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

• Support the Cytiva Pensacola facility with compliance to all EHS requirements to include develop and maintain EHS procedures - working in coordination with the other departments as well as assisting the facilities and engineering departments with process changes involving Management of Change.
• Coordinate and maintain training and records for programs including but not limited to: HAZCOMM Fire Extinguishers Hot Work LOTO Confined Space Ergonomics Ladder Safety Accident Investigation Personal Protective Equipment
• Conduct/support/coach departments in risk assessment tools and support continuous improvement where gaps are identified monitoring progress until closed.
• Create maintain and enhance effective working relationships with Value Stream Leaders Managers Supervisors and Employee representatives and other key stakeholders (internal and external).
• Own and manage Industrial Hygiene monitoring analysis of reports and implementation of effective countermeasures as required.

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Bachelors degree preferably in Science Engineering or EHS related field with 3 years experience in environmental health and/or safety field
• Experience managing/overseeing site procedures work practices related to EHS Regulations permits etc.
• Ability to communicate at all levels including senior management and external regulators
• Problem solving skills root cause analysis knowledge of lean manufacturing practices
• Knowledge of Process Safety / Process Hazard Analysis / Job Hazard Analysis and emergency response and planning.

It would also be a plus if you possess the following:

• Recognized Professional Certification in Safety Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Management (CEM CHMM CSP).
• Experience working with ISO 45001 audit activities.
• Auditing Skills including the ability to observe monitor and analyze existing operating methods and procedures to determine compliance to standards
