SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST ASSISTANT/INTERN

Supervisor: Director of Special Education

Salary Range:$27.17 - $29.88

Location / Assignment: Support Services
Conditions of Work 7 Hours/day 180 Day/Year


SUMMARY:

A psychologist assistant supports licensed psychologists by helping with administrative tasks scheduling documentation data collection and preparing materials for assessments or therapy sessions. They may also assist with client intake maintain confidential records and support the coordination of services while working under the supervision of a psychologist.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Support the evaluation and assessment of students using various testing tools to determine eligibility for special education services.
Collaborate with Support Services staff when looking at special education referrals.
Participate in MTSS/referral team meetings when students are referred for special education testing.
Maintain records accurately and organize set priorities and coordinate required activities.
Interpret data to provide usable academic and behavior strategies in the classroom setting.
Ability to work with students in multi-aged groups.
Ability to meet punctuality and attendance expectations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of data and information as necessary.
Ability to develop and maintain high standards of performance.
Ability to communicate effectively with students parents community and staff.
Perform related tasks consistent with the scope and responsibility of the position.
Must have good human relations and interpersonal skills demonstrated ability to maintain
confidentiality and show initiative when appropriate.
Ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies as well as district
/legal requirements
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Special Education.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of current assessment practices and instruments including all disability categories preschool through high school

Spaniish preferred

Completed District application forms.
A letter of interest.
Three letters of recommendation.
A resume
