Position Description
Job Title: Job Coach
FLSA: Non - Exempt
Job Status: Part Time 29 hours per week.
Reporting Functions: Lead Job Coach and Principal

Job Coach Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide one-on-one job coaching and support to individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment
- Initiate proactive and timely communication with Job Works Partners Lead Job Coach Principle and Teachers
- Set an excellent example of the highest level of integrity and character for our students staff and Mercy families
- Assist individuals with resume writing job search and interview preparation
- Conduct skills assessments and job analysis to determine individual strengths and needs
- Develop and implement individualized action plans to support job readiness and success
- Build and maintain strong relationships with employers community organizations agencies to secure job placements and support ongoing career development
- Provide ongoing follow-up and support to ensure job satisfaction and retention
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Job Coach or Principal
Job Coach Qualifications & Skills
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and effectively pivot to other responsibilities if a planned job changes for a day
- Good writing skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students and teachers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to build rapport and work effectively with a diverse population
- Must be a self-starter who can work independently and carry tasks through to completion.
- Ability to create and implement individualized action plans and track progress towards goals.
- Passion for helping others and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of those we serve
- Proficiency in MS-Word is necessary and familiarity with MS Office Suite is a plus.
- Previous experience working with children with special needs (preferred).

Background clearances required - Clear records of Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (PATCH) Pennsylvania Child Abuse History and Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Background Fingerprint Check as required under Commonwealth of Pennsylvanias Act 153 of 2014 (at least 1 year old.) As well as attendance at a Protecting Gods Children class and Mandated Reporter Training.

Physical Demands: Sitting and standing for extended periods of time. May frequently and safely move or lift children weighing up to 100 lbs. from wheelchairs to tables or desks. Frequent bending at the waist kneeling crouching and pushing or pulling to assist students is also required. May reach overhead as well as above shoulders and horizontally. Dexterity of hands and fingers to demonstrate activities or run medical and instructional equipment is required as is hearing and speaking to exchange information make presentations hear in a noisy environment and locate the source of a sound. Reading a variety of materials and monitoring student activities is required. Possible biological exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases.
Working Conditions: This a part-time position; 10- months during the school year 29 hours a week; Monday- Friday: 8:15 AM- 3:00 PM. Works in a variety of settings including classrooms and community settings. May be required to assist with special duties and work outside the normal school day to attend school-related events.
