A Preschool Director manages all aspects of an early childhood facility including daily operations staff supervision curriculum development and licensing compliance. They ensure a safe nurturing environment while managing budgets enrollment and parent communications | |||

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES (NOT LIMITED TO): | |||
Plan budget for NSHS Preschool Program collect and deposit monthly tuition payments and issue tuition receipts. Submit deposits to Accounting Office Ed. Center. Enrollment for Preschool both current and for upcoming school year (return phone calls conduct tours and interviews) Communication and collaboration with the 45 families in the Newton South Preschool Program regarding Open Houses enrollment early childhood developmental concerns and parent events (i.e. Story Starters Pizza and Parenting and parent information sessions) Interview and recommend staff for hire: Preschool Staff: (4 Unit C 2 Unit A) Contributing evaluator of preschool staff: complete observations of Newton South Preschool Staff and interface with Family and Consumer Sciences Dept. Head. Create POs pay bills. Purchase food as needed. Order instructional supplies and materials for the Newton South Preschool Program in conjunction with lead teachers. Coordinate music education and field trip plans/buses for the preschool children in conjunction with lead teachers. Establish individual files health records and developmental forms for the preschool children. Establish preschool health files for NSHS nurse. Plan and carry out staff meetings and professional development for preschool teaching staff: two professional development workshops a year and monthly staff meetings. Plan monthly professional staff meetings Guide and support staff in meeting the DESE guidelines and standards for quality Early Childhood Education Programs as outlined by the MA DESE. Create a budget that pays for all staff positions as well as all Health Benefits. This Position follows the UNIT B Collective Bargaining Agreement | |||
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: | |||
Work Environment: The majority of work is performed in a school/classroom environment. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job the coach is frequently required to walk stand sit talk and hear. The teacher is regularly required to bend stoop crouch and/or kneel. The teacher is occasionally required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Must have sufficient mobility to navigate within a large school building. |
