Position Summary: The Carpentry Master Craftsperson performs advanced carpentry workrequiring expert-level skill in design construction fabrication and building systems. Thisposition independently executes complex projects designs and constructs custom items fordistrict events and functions and coordinates work across multiple maintenance shops.
This role requires extensive knowledge of woodworking building design construction methodsand material fabrication beyond what is expected of a Carpentry Craftsperson. The MasterCraftsperson serves as a technical resource within the carpentry shop and may work withoutside contractors and vendors on signage installation specialized projects and large-scaleconstruction. This position represents the highest level of individual contributor expertise withinthe Carpentry skilled trades career track and does not include direct supervisory responsibility.

Quality Assurance and Code Compliance

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of an accredited trade school program in carpentry cabinetmaking orrelated field preferred

Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in all phases of carpentry crafts includingdesign construction and fabrication
Experience working in commercial institutional or educational facilities preferred
Experience coordinating across multiple trades or with outside contractors preferred

Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Oklahoma drivers license with no restrictions that would preclude driving on thejob required
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Expert-level knowledge of carpentry methods materials tools construction techniquesand building design
Ability to read interpret and work from blueprints schematics and architecturaldrawings
Advanced proficiency with hand and power tools shop equipment and fabricationmachinery
Ability to design and construct custom items including structures fixtures displays andevent installations
Knowledge of applicable building codes safety standards and district maintenanceprocedures
Ability to accurately estimate labor materials and project timelines for complexassignments
Strong organizational planning and time management skills
Ability to coordinate work across multiple maintenance shops and with outsidecontractors and vendors
Strong communication skills including the ability to work with school administratorsdistrict leadership and external partners
Proficiency with CMMS software and basic computer applications including MicrosoftOffice
