Overview

The Manager of Corporate Accounting is responsible for overseeing key corporate accounting functions and supporting the monthly and quarterly close processes. This role will lead a team of accounting professionals while partnering with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency maintain strong internal controls and support the Companys financial reporting and compliance requirements.

This is a highly visible role requiring strong technical accounting expertise leadership capabilities and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced multi-entity environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead coach and develop a team of accounting professionals fostering a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous improvement

  • Provide performance management feedback and development opportunities for team members

  • Oversee corporate accounting activities ensuring timely and accurate completion of monthly and quarterly close processes

  • Ensure accurate preparation review and approval of balance sheet accounts reconciliations balance sheet analytics and corporate results reviews

  • Manage corporate journal entries and submissions to the Consolidations team

  • Oversee accounting and analysis for self-funded medical reserves

  • Manage accounting and quarterly review of Property & Casualty (P&C) reserves including coordination with Legal Risk Management and external stakeholders

  • Ensure reserve methodologies are applied consistently and supported by appropriate analysis

  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate policies and U.S. GAAP

  • Oversee governance processes including Delegation of Authority updates and user access reviews

  • Support internal and external audits ensuring timely completion of audit requests

  • Serve as a key liaison with Legal F&I Tax Consolidations and Internal Audit teams

  • Coordinate accounting activities across multiple entities and functional areas

  • Support compensation-related accounting including bonus accruals and executive compensation

  • Prepare and present financial analyses reporting and Board-level materials to senior leadership including preparation of Board materials

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • 5 years of progressive accounting experience including at least 3 years in a people management or lead role within a large complex organization.
  • Have a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP reserve accounting and corporate reporting
  • Have a proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
  • Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Hold an active CPA license or be CPA-eligible with a path to obtaining their license.
  • A working knowledge of Oracle ERP Oracle Smart View and FCCS Consolidation Software
  • An intermediate knowledge of Microsoft software products particularly Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Experience utilizing AI tools such as ChatGPT in accounting workflows.
