Purpose of the Role
BGIS is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to support the delivery of strategic asset maintenance management compliance and lifecycle performance across a key national infrastructure portfolio.
This is a highly client-facing role working across both BGIS Sydney Head Office and a major client site in Ultimo. The environment is fast-paced and highly engaged requiring someone who is confident composed and able to build strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Reporting across the Account Manager you will play a key role in shaping asset maintenance strategy supporting compliance outcomes and helping drive continuous improvement across operational and financial performance.
The ideal candidate is calm thoughtful detail-oriented and confident working with a range of stakeholders. You enjoy bringing structure to complexity building trusted relationships and contributing to solutions that improve outcomes over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of asset maintenance strategy and compliance across a multi-site portfolio
- Analyse asset condition data lifecycle planning and maintenance backlogs
- Ensure compliance obligations are met in line with contractual and regulatory requirements
- Support operational teams with the implementation of maintenance initiatives and improvements
- Work closely with Finance to support accurate reporting budgeting and expenditure tracking
- Help strengthen asset management frameworks and system processes
- Engage with client stakeholders to support alignment communication and service delivery outcomes
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in operational performance and service quality
Education Experience & Skills
Essential:
- Experience in facilities management property or integrated services environments
- Experience working with subcontractors and operational service teams
- Understanding of technical legislation relating to building and facilities maintenance
- Experience supporting compliance and asset maintenance activities
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Tertiary qualification in Property Business Commerce Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)
Desirable:
- Experience with multi-site portfolios or complex operational environments
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and asset data reporting
- Additional qualifications in Facilities Management or Project Management
Workplace Flexibility
This role is based between BGIS Sydney CBD Head Office and a key client site in Ultimo with a 50/50 split. The arrangement is 4 days in office/site and 1 day working from home.
