Job Summary

The Mustard Seeds Community Engagement team fosters a Christ-centered understanding of povertyand homelessness to transform worldviews and mobilize the community. The teamfacilitatesexperiential and educational opportunities for people of all ages to broaden their knowledge of issuessurrounding poverty and homelessness.

Reporting to the Community Engagement Manager the Community EngagementCoordinatorwill focus on building relationships with local churches organizations and partner agenciesas well as overseeing the Seed Serve duties will be to administrate correspondences with churches& community partners manage relationships with pastors overseecommunity engagementprograming and aid infacilitatingcommunity education and involvement with Mustard Seed programming and services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In collaboration with the Manager design and execute a comprehensive church engagement framework that aligns organizational goals with local community needs.
  • Proactively build and sustain strategic partnerships by networking with local churches businesses and community stakeholders to foster long-term collaboration.
  • Serve as a primary representative for the organization by coordinating and delivering compelling presentations and speaking engagements to diverse faith-based and community groups.
  • Strengthencommunity presence by cultivating deep partnerships within the specific neighborhoods where our sitesoperate ensuring localized support and visibility.
  • Direct the planning organization and facilitation of theSeed Serve Youth Program ensuringhigh levelsof engagement and impactful service-learning experiences.
  • Facilitate specialized presentations and workshops focused on the complexities of poverty and homelessness for schools staff volunteers and thepublic.
  • Support the Manager in developing and implementing innovative initiatives to increase public understanding of homelessness exits and systemic poverty issues.
  • Manage various administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of community engagement programs and tracking of partnership data.
  • Execute other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Has a related degree inministry education or social work
  • Significant experienceworking with communities affected by poverty and homelessness
  • Proven ability to network and build strategic partnerships
  • Excellent public speaking skills
  • Excellent administrative time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills publicrelationsand group facilitation skills
  • Self-motivated and capacity to work independently
  • Competent with Microsoft Office
  • Valid class 5driverslicense
  • Three years of experience in a non-profit social service or educational organization

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Evening and weekend work may berequired
  • Access to a reliable vehicle isrequiredâ
  • Drivingapersonal vehicle and travelingisrequiredas part of this role
  • Moderate physical effortrequired; keyboarding word processing walking database maintenance standing while teaching and public speaking.
  • Moderate mental effort; teaching communicating information to the public working with students andyouthfostering relationshipsandfacilitatingprograms.

          • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer

          This position requires the use of a company vehicle and/or personal vehicle for company use. The candidate must have a valid drivers licence maintain $2M Vehicle Liability Insurance on the personal vehicle being used and will need to consent to a drivers abstract request.
