License Requirement: Valid RN/RM License (Current and in Good Standing)
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and competent Head Nurse to oversee nursing operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient-centred care across all clinical units.
The successful candidate will provide operational leadership to the nursing team ensuring adherence to clinical standards efficient workforce management and continuous improvement in patient care outcomes. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong clinical expertise leadership capability and a commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Clinical & Patient Care Leadership
- Supervise and coordinate the delivery of safe effective and patient-centred nursing care
- Ensure adherence to established clinical protocols patient safety standards and best practices
- Support multidisciplinary collaboration between nurses physicians and other healthcare professionals
- Promote a culture of professionalism empathy and excellence in patient care
2. Nursing Operations & Team Management
- Provide direct supervision and coordination of nursing staff across assigned units
- Develop and manage duty rosters shift schedules and staff deployment
- Monitor staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency
- Support nurse supervisors and unit leads in managing day-to-day clinical operations
- Ensure proper utilisation of nursing resources and materials
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies infection control standards and regulatory requirements
- Monitor clinical practices to maintain high standards of care delivery
- Support quality improvement initiatives and implement corrective actions where necessary
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation
4. Training & Capacity Development
- Support onboarding and orientation of new nursing staff
- Identify training needs and coordinate continuous professional development initiatives
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior nurses and support staff
- Promote adherence to evidence-based nursing practices
5. Administrative & Reporting Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit regular reports on nursing activities staffing and performance
- Support departmental planning resource allocation and cost control initiatives
- Escalate operational issues and provide recommendations to management
6. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as a key liaison between the nursing team and hospital management
- Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless patient care delivery
- Support hospital-wide initiatives audits and accreditation processes
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing (. Nursing)
- Valid RN/RM License
- Relevant certifications in nursing leadership or healthcare management (added advantage)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 15 years post-qualification nursing experience
- At least 710 years in a supervisory or leadership role within a hospital setting
- Experience in managing nursing teams and coordinating clinical operations
- Exposure to structured healthcare environments is highly desirable
