Patheon Softgels B.V. part of Thermo Fisher Scientifics Pharma Services Group is a global pharmaceutical organization within the Softgel Business Unit. At our Tilburg site we operate a 24/7 production facility with multiple production lines warehouses quality control labs and external logistics partners. Our Supply Chain team plays a critical role in managing the end to end Make to Order flow across departments and stakeholders.

Position Overview

As a Supply Chain Specialist you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials production planning and product delivery across the supply chain. You will coordinate procurement planning and logistics activities while balancing customer demand inventory levels and operational capacity.

You will act as a key point of contact for customers throughout the order lifecycle ensuring clear communication accurate order handling and on time delivery. This role requires close collaboration with cross functional teams including Production Quality R&D Finance and external suppliers. You will contribute to operational excellence cost control process optimization and compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and Production Coordination

  • Develop and manage production plans based on demand forecasts capacity and material availability
  • Create and maintain master production schedules and work orders in ERP systems
  • Align planning with scheduling constraints batch sizes and lead times

Procurement and Supplier Management

  • Manage raw material purchasing and ensure timely availability of materials
  • Create and monitor purchase orders and supplier performance
  • Support vendor negotiations and drive cost efficiency initiatives

Order and Customer Management

  • Maintain frequent contact with customers and act as a key point of contact throughout the order process
  • Accurately monitor and manage customer orders in ERP systems ensuring timely and correct processing and delivery
  • Enter and validate customer orders based on agreed quantities pricing and delivery terms
  • Send order confirmations and provide proactive updates on order status
  • Identify risks or delays and communicate effectively with customers

Inventory and Demand Management

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels using MRP and inventory management strategies
  • Analyze demand forecasts and supply chain data to improve planning accuracy
  • Track and report on supply chain KPIs and performance metrics

Logistics and Shipment Coordination

  • Coordinate shipments and prepare documentation in line with incoterms and regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with warehouses transport providers and external partners
  • Ensure timely invoicing and delivery of finished goods

Cross Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate closely with internal and external stakeholders to track progress and proactively resolve issues
  • Work with Production Quality Control R&D Finance and external suppliers to ensure material and product availability
  • Support financial reporting and supply chain performance tracking
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics Business Engineering or related field
  • Entry level candidates welcome; experience in supply chain or manufacturing is a plus
  • Familiarity with supply chain concepts such as planning procurement and logistics
  • Experience with ERP systems is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel/ PowerBi.
  • Knowledge of MRP systems and inventory management principles is beneficial
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret KPIs and supply chain metrics
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal.
