Job Summary

As a Golf Intern at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort youll get real hands-on experience at one of the worlds top golf destinations while pursuing your Professional Golf Management degree. Youll work directly with guests manage our golf shop coordinate tournaments and learn the business side of golf operations. This isnt just shadowing someoneyoull have actual responsibilities that matter to our guests experiences on courses that rank among the top 16 public courses in America.

About Bandon Dunes Golf Resort:

Bandon Dunes is a world-class golf resort located on the Oregon Coast near the charming community of Bandon. Guests come to experience golf as it was meant to be at Bandon Dunes six distinct golf courses. That includes five 18-hole courses which all rank among the top 16 public courses in the United States according to Golf Digest. The resort is also home to an award-winning par-3 course Bandon Preserve. A second par-3 course Shortys will open in 2024. The two short courses are Courses with a Mission with all net proceeds funding the Bandon Dunes Charitable Foundation. The Foundation supports communities along the South Coast of Oregon.

What Youll Do:

Learn the retail side of golf. Youll become an expert on our golf shop merchandise help guests find what they need and handle special orders. This means understanding products well enough to make real recommendations not just ringing up sales.
Handle real transactions. Youll process merchandise sales greens fees and equipment rentals while keeping accurate records. Youll learn the financial side of golf operations through actual daily work not textbook theory.
Provide genuine customer service. Youll answer guest questions schedule tee times and maintain professional phone interactions. When guests call youll be the voice they hear representing Bandon Dunes.
Support tournaments and events. Youll help organize competitions and special events coordinating between different departments to make sure everything runs smoothly. This is where youll see how all the moving pieces fit together.
Manage inventory and operations. Youll help keep merchandise displays organized assist with inventory counts and support various services like handicapping systems and driving range operations.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

Youre pursuing a Professional Golf Management degree. We work with certified PGM programs and prefer students who can commit to a 6-month internship. This gives you enough time to really learn the business not just get a quick overview.
You communicate well. Strong written and verbal skills matter here because youll interact with guests from around the world. You need to sound professional on the phone and explain complex golf services clearly.
You can handle multiple priorities. Golf operations move fast and youll need to manage several tasks while staying calm under pressure. If you get flustered easily when things get busy this probably isnt the right fit.
Youre flexible with your schedule. Golf doesnt stop for weekends or holidays. Youll work evenings weekends and busy periods when our guests need us most.
