Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): The Teaching Assistant for Art 227 will assist with maintaining the printmaking studio helping students with technical questions during class and studio hours and setting up/cleaning up printmaking demonstrations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assisting with printmaking demonstrations

• • Setting up

  • Assisting during

  • Cleaning up

• Helping to keep the printmaking studio clean and stocked

• • Refilling solvent bottles

  • Cleaning surfaces and tools as needed

  • Tidying the studio before and after class

• Answering student technical questions

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)

• Student has taken Art 227 previously

• Student is organized punctual and reliable

• Student is skilled at clear communication

• Student has the ability to work independently

Physical and Environmental Factors:

This position requires crouching stooping twisting/pivoting reaching overhead grasping/handling pushing/pulling lifting and carrying objects up to 20 lbs. operating hand tools and operating equipment or machinery to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to chemicals and proximity hazards as well as rare exposure to loud noise respiratory factors and vibrations to perform the essential functions. Protective equipment is required to perform some essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
