About the role
The Director Home Schooling Programs directs the regulation strategy implementation integration and evaluation of Home Schooling Programs to ensure all registered children and young people receive a Home Schooling education of the highest quality. The role ensures governance and program management arrangements operate effectively to minimise risk while achieving outcomes.

About you
You are a strong people leader with extensive experience in providing balanced advice and solutions within a similar large and complex educational organisation. You bring a deep understanding of education and passion for delivering and improving education outcomes for children and young people.
Your ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders and evaluate strategic priorities between immediate deliverables and the equally critical long-term outcomes will be essential to your success.
As a leader you will join an executive team focused on driving improved ways of working to deliver meaningful and long-lasting impact. You will be collaborative courageous agile and disciplined about delivering outcomes for the registered Home Schooling children and young people of NSW.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Demonstrated extensive experience at a senior level in the management of a large complex organisation.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of education.
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Education.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Departments Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Departments Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
- Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check).
As a condition of employment successful candidates who have not previously worked for the department will be required to provide a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance number. This option would allow the WWCC to naturally expire without further communication needed with the employee. The employer obligations under the WWCC would apply for duration of the WWCCs validity (up to 5 years).
