Your Role

Mallee District Aboriginal Services (MDAS) is one of Victorias largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.

We are seeking a dedicated and culturally aware Case Manager Mens Family Violence in our Swan Hill location.

This role supports and works directly with Aboriginal men who use family violence to take responsibility for their behaviour improve family safety and create positive change. This includes addressing the underlying drivers of family violencepromote accountability and support safer relationships while maintaining a strong safety focus. on victim survivor safety.

In this role you will deliver targeted trauma informed case management to Aboriginal men:

  • removed from the home due to family violence and at risk of homelessness; and
  • at risk of using violence with a focus on early interventions and prevention.

This is a permanent full time position based at our Swan Hill office location.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Experience in providing timely and responsive case management and counselling to people who use violence in a culturally appropriate and holistic manner.

  • Demonstrated experience in assessment skills including the capacity to apply a range of intervention strategies.

  • Experience developing documented referrals with key providers such as police mens referralsservices & childrens services behaviour change programs emergency homelessness and other accommodation providers.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of current policies legislation program and practices in relation to the program.

  • Demonstrated experience in preparation of written reports including case notes and reports with statistical data collected from service delivery reporting.

  • Ability to take action to provide services that are inclusive of Aboriginal people and engage in learning about other cultures to better establish relationships and improve services

Qualification/s:
Diploma of Community Services or working towards.

Other Screening Requirements:
Valid Drivers License that allows you to drive in Australia.
Victorian Employee Working with Children Check card.
National Police Check.
