Your new role
The LLEW Training Lead is responsible for leading and supporting a team of lived experience facilitators within Unitings Training and Capacity Building Team. The role focuses on developing trainer capability fostering a positive team culture and ensuring the delivery of high-quality mental health and AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) training programs.
Key responsibilities include delivering and co-developing training mentoring facilitators advising on best practice and overseeing both online and in-person training to ensure safe engaging and effective learning environments. The role also works closely with Voices Vic and AOD teams to deliver specialised lived experience training including the Hearing Voices Approach and consumer education programs.
This position suits an experienced trainer with a background in managing teams and lived/living experience in mental health and/or AOD who is passionate about building workforce capability in a purpose-driven environment.

Your skills and experience
- Relevant qualification in Mental Health Peer Work Training & Assessment or related field
- Experience leading and training facilitators within lived experience teams
- Strong facilitation skills in lived experience-focused training
- Lived/living experience of mental health and/or AOD recovery
- Knowledge of mental health and/or AOD systems
- Strong communication teamwork and organisational skills
