Pines has an immediate opening for a Radiology Technologist/Medical Assistant at our Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Practice.
Qualified candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to our vision mission and goals while providing exceptional patient support. The Radiology Technologist/Medical Assistant is responsible for the patients of the practice ensuring smooth daily operations. Tech is responsible for providing accurate documentation and summarization of the examinations and recommendations as part of the patient appointment.
Essential Functions:
Rad Tech:
1. Completes diagnostic radiology procedures following departmental protocols.
2. Confidently explains diagnostic radiology to patients.
3. Accurately and consistently completes required Diagnostic Radiology paperwork.
4. Maintains current standards of practice through review of current literature including information on best practice for images.
5. Assists department supervisor as needed for daily monthly quarterly quality control as needed.
6. Communicates examination outcomes to provider appropriately.
7. Assist department supervisor with of inventory specific to radiology.
8. Complies with local state and federal laws and regulations.
9. Remains available to the physician during all patient appointments.
10. Completes the superbill and/or the check-out form at the direction of the physician.
11. Completes proper sterilization of all office instruments and equipment as necessary.
12. Assesses all clinical calls with provider to determine acuity.
13. Maintains smooth flow in daily schedule between providers and patients.
Medical Assistant:
1. Ability to communicate verbally in a professional manner with patients providers and staff.
2. Ability to follow directions from physician or mid-level provider.
3. Ability to record patient data in electronic medical record for providers (i.e. vital signs vision tests histories etc.).
4. Providing patient education on medications as needed.
5. Ability to process lab work office procedures makes appointments for diagnostic or specialty testing while educating patients about procedures and preparation for procedures.
6. Prepares (to include stocking of medical supplies as needed) and cleans exam rooms for provider/patient needs.
7. Completes proper sterilization of all office instruments and equipment as necessary.
8. Assesses all clinical calls with provider to determine acuity.
9. Must have ability to administer injections and have knowledge of immunizations.
10. Maintains smooth flow in daily schedule between providers and patients.
11. Maintains electronic medical record reads and adds dictation to records scanning lab results.
12. Upon provider orders relays patient prescriptions to the pharmacist follow-up orders and notification of test results.
13. Responsible for obtaining and preparing electronic medical record for provider to review and document.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Licenses: Active State of Maine Licensed Radiology Technologist
1. Blood borne pathogens SDS and other OSHA required training programs.
2. Must maintain BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
Availability Requirements:
Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. Hours may vary according to patient care practice schedule.
