Job Summary

Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

Bachelorsdegreeandthree-fiveyearsofsupervisory/management experience and two-three years of professional higher education work experience

Preferred Hiring Qualifications:

Salary offers will be determined based on the candidates qualifications in relation to the Minimum Hiring Standards. Candidates earlier in their careers are typically offered salaries closer to the minimum of the hiring range while those with more advanced or relevant experience may be considered for compensation at or above the hiring range.

In theOffice ofStudent Financial Services Financial Aid the primary responsibility of theAssistant Director Financial Aidposition is to play an important role ofprovidingstrategic leadership and administrative guidance coordination and implementation for the Financial Aid office at a large innovative public university that is committed to student success. This position will require knowledge in all areas of financial aid but focuses on grants and scholarships. This person will oversee the operations of the Financial Aid office (budget personnel information policies reports and procedures). Specific responsibilities also include working collaboratively with the Director of Financial Aid the Enrollment Management Group Student Financial Services and University staff in pursuit of student success initiatives.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

Oversee the administration compliance and reconciliation of state-funded financial aid programs

Responsible foraccurateawarding reporting and disbursement of all scholarshipsgrantsand state aidin accordance withstate regulations institutional policies and federal guidelines.

Review maintenance of financial aid over-awards Title IV refunding external audit items and oversee special projects.

Ability to read analyze and interpret identified issues with Banner System technical procedures or governmental regulations.

Developstaff through continuous training and mentoring opportunities resulting in empowerment of staff to responsibly handle Financial Aid issues and concerns.

Serve as the subject matter expert for all grants scholarships and state aid programs.

Coordinatethe research development and maintenance ofnew programsgrantsand funding proposals.

Assist the Director/Associate Director with policy development and operational planning.

Interpret and apply federal and state statutes regulations and program guidance.

Prepare andsubmitrequired state reports certifications and reconciliations accurately and on time.

Support audits program reviews and compliance inquiries related to state aid.

Maintain documentation and internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance.

Serve asliaisonbetween Student Financial Aid office and other associated offices or entities within/outside the university.
