Hours: 40 hours/week 8 hours/day (Schedules vary: 8 AM4 PM 10 AM6 PM 12 PM8 PM)
Job Description:
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team on a contract basis. This role combines clinical and administrative duties to ensure seamless patient care and efficient office operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical:
- Perform venipuncture and/or EKGs collect/process specimens and assist patients with mobility and transfers
- Take vital signs prepare patients for exams and assist physicians with procedures
- Set up exam rooms and instruments following proper sterilization and infection control procedures
- Maintain medication and supply logs; check expiration dates and restock supplies as needed
- Follow PPE and safety standards in a clinical environment
Administrative:
- Schedule patient appointments surgeries and procedures; manage charts and patient records
- Enter orders in the EMR system and prepare prescription refill requests
- Verify and update patient insurance information; perform pre-certifications as needed
- Answer calls relay instructions to patients/families and manage patient flow
- Maintain a safe secure and organized work environment
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED Medical Assistant certificate from an approved program
- BLS Certification (Required AHA)
- Certified Medical Assistant preferred
- Proficient in medical terminology and HIPAA guidelines
- Basic MS Office skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment
