About this role


Location: Various Locations

The Site Progress Controller is responsible for the reporting of on-site execution coordination and cost and progress performance monitoring of utility-scale renewable energy power plant construction activities. Operating as a core member of the Employers site team this position supports project delivery through planning cost control contractor management and cluster-level reporting.

This role reports directly to the Site Construction Manager and functionally to the Senior Project Manager. The Project Progress Controller interfaces with key site-based personnelincluding the Quality Manager Health and Safety Manager and Construction Managerand represents Mulilo as the Employer in managing contractor execution and performance.

The successful candidate will bring an integrated understanding of planning contracting and construction operations to perform effective oversight while measuring progress against the baseline schedule serving a critical link between technical site execution and strategic project oversight.


Duties and responsibilities

Measurement and valuation of Contractors performance


  • Monitor contractors performance on site for adherence to the contract through maintaining detailed project progress against baseline schedules provided via Primavera P6 MS Project or equivalent.
  • Monitor all physical work done and tests carried out by Contractors by monitoring actual progress against the baseline schedule identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Validate field measurements and confirm physical percentage completed.
  • Assist the Construction Manager in short-term planning resource allocation and productivity tracking.
  • Support daily weekly and monthly lookahead planning to optimise workflow and coordination.
  • Report on project progress and identified risks.
  • Provide site-based construction performance expertise to support project cost management including claims verification cost estimation budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Conduct detailed measurements and take-offs from project drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of project quantities and costs ensuring alignment with project budgets and contracts.

Support Contractor Management


  • Serve as a key on-site representative in contractor interface meetings.
  • Monitor Contractors on site for adherence to the contract through tracking and evaluating contractor performance productivity and compliance with contract deliverables.
  • Support the Construction Manager with validating (evidence-based) milestone/progress claims and payment certificates.
  • Variation order evaluations scope clarifications and claim mitigation.
  • Facilitate efficient communication and coordination between the Employer EPC/subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor and minimise the cause and effect of claims due to late access late material provision and failure to provide other Employer contractual deliverables.

Formal Reporting and Documentation


  • Report on project progress identified risks deviations from the integrated performance baseline schedule and provide impact analysis.
  • Assist with compiling accurate and timely daily logs weekly and monthly progress reports and other applicable management information for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Consolidate site metrics and location-wide reporting to ensure strategic visibility of project health.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of all commercial contractual and technical correspondence.

Collaboration and Coordination


  • Serve as a single point of contact for planning reporting and contractual matters from the site to the central project team.
  • Work closely with project managers engineers and construction teams to ensure data accuracy and project coordination.
  • Liaise with contractors suppliers and other stakeholders to obtain and verify project data and documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings providing updates on data management document control and cost management.

Required skills and education background.


  • Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying Construction Management Planning or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in large infrastructure or renewable energy construction with a strong site-based track record (at least 3 years).
  • In-depth knowledge of contract management planning and commercial principles.
  • Familiarity with FIDIC contract conditions and construction contract administration.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 MS Project Excel and reporting software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in remote high-performance environments and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.


General


  • The Site Progress Controller may also be required to perform additional ad hoc duties as reasonably assigned by project leadership to support the overall success of the project.

Additional Information

Able to work overtime according to operational needs.

Travel will be required occasionally.

The role is based on-site with frequent inter-site travel within the project cluster if applicable.

Extended working hours may be required to meet project timelines.

Saturday work will generally be required to accommodate structured rest and recovery (R&R) weekends typically until early afternoon depending on project demands.
