Administrative Support Specialist CIDD

Job Summary
The Administrative Support Specialist position serves within the CIDD (Center for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) clinic providing multifaceted support across critical areas such as front office operations clinical activities billing and client relations. The position is responsible for billing and collection of client accounts within the guidelines of UNC Faculty Physicians to increase the administrative efficiency and fiscal productivity of the clinic. The employee will serve as the billing and collection administrator and contact patients third party payers and insurance carriers for the purpose of obtaining pre-authorization explaining charges and correcting erroneous charges. The individual will manage administrative workflows and processes that ensure the smooth operation of the clinic. This includes overseeing clinic scheduling patient check-in/check-out insurance verification and billing processes as well as leading efforts to improve clinic efficiency and compliance with UNC HIPAA and insurance regulations. This position involves independent judgment identifying and resolving administrative issues and the ability to recommend process improvements. The role involves collaborating with faculty staff and external stakeholders as well as managing clinic resources. The position utilizes strong organizational analytical and communication skills as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Work Schedule
Monday Friday 8:00 am 5:00 pm; other times as needed.
