Nutrition Manager

Job Title: Nutrition Manager - Elementary

Pay Grade: 106

Terms of Employment: 185 Day

Job Summary:

Oversee production and service of breakfast lunch and (as applicable) afterschool snacks for students faculty administrators and visitors in accordance with district policies and guidelines while maintaining first-class standards for service safety and sanitation. Maintain accurate paper and computer-based production records.

Essential Duties

1. Order and receive all food and supplies for the assigned cafeteria
2. Assure security of food and supply inventory
3. Manage daily money deposits and other financial functions
4. Manage cash handling procedures and monitor cashiers for adherence to standards
5. Maintain accurate State agency records on a daily monthly and annual basis
6. Exercise discretion and independent judgment in daily operation of assigned cafeteria
7. Communicate district and department policies and procedures to staff
8. Supervise and evaluate employee work performance provide feedback to employees during performance evaluations staff meetings in-services and coaching
9. Address complaints and resolve problems
10. Oversee implementation and maintenance of safety training and food sanitation program (HACCP)
11. Develop and implement work schedules
12. Oversee new employee training and provide guidance and direction as needed
13. Maintain compliance with regulatory standards for foodservice as established by local health department and State agency
14. Follow guidelines to ensure accurate use of department school nutrition software
15. Ensure quality control standards are achieved daily
16. Provide input to assist in planning the future development of the school nutrition department
17. Complete Food Protection Program and become certified as School Nutrition Manager; maintain certification as required
18. Attend required manager and safety meetings
19. Additional tasks as assigned by Supervisor of School Nutrition

Minimum Education and Experience Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain Certification within 90 days of hire

Two years of related foodservice preferred/ One year of supervisory experience preferred

Must possess and maintain a valid state drivers license with an acceptable driving history
