The Depot Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the depot ensuring efficient storage handling and distribution of goods. This role focuses on driving operational excellence maintaining compliance optimizing inventory control and leading a high-performing team to meet business objectives.

Responsibilities:
Operations Management
- Oversee all depot operations including receiving storage dispatch and transportation coordination
- Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and delivery
- Monitor depot performance against KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain optimal stock levels and minimize shrinkage or losses
Inventory & Stock Control
- Manage inventory systems to ensure accuracy and real-time visibility
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations
- Implement and enforce stock handling and control procedures
Team Leadership
- Lead train and develop depot staff to drive productivity and accountability
- Manage staff scheduling performance reviews and disciplinary processes
- Foster a strong safety and performance-driven culture
Health Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments
- Maintain a clean organized and secure depot environment
Logistics & Distribution
- Coordinate transport planning and route optimization
- Liaise with drivers suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations
- Resolve delivery issues and customer complaints effectively
Financial & Reporting
- Manage depot budget costs and resource allocation
- Prepare and present operational reports (KPIs stock levels losses etc.)
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in a depot warehouse or logistics management role
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Solid understanding of inventory management systems and processes
- Good financial acumen and reporting capability
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Valid drivers license (preferred/required depending on role)
- Willingness to work extended hours when required
