Database Manager (InterSystems IRIS)

Job Title: Database Manager (InterSystems IRIS / Cache HMS Modernization)
Location: Tallahassee FL (Remote currently allowed; local candidates preferred)
Duration: July 1 September 30 2026 (Approx. 600 hours)
Project: Health Management System (HMS) Cloud Modernization & EHR Consolidation

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Database Manager supporting HMS modernization and enterprise data migration activities

• Create system design documentation for enhancements additions and defect fixes

• Modify and develop application and database code supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

• Troubleshoot system issues and document resolutions in coordination with HMS Support teams

• Provide work estimates and status updates during sprint and release cycles

• Participate in Release Planning Sprint Planning and Daily Scrum activities

• Maintain application modification documentation in repository systems

• Develop utilities supporting developer unit testing activities

• Ensure compliance with departmental security confidentiality and policy standards

• Complete required Department training and compliance activities

Required Skills and Experience

• 7 years of experience as an InterSystems IRIS/Cach ObjectScript Developer

• 7 years of experience in IRIS/Cach database design data modeling and SQL

• 7 years of experience with HTML CSS and JavaScript

• 5 years of experience with SQL queries JSON jQuery Ajax Bootstrap and XML

• Strong expertise in object-oriented programming principles

• Experience building and consuming web services within Cach environments

• Working knowledge of SOAP SSL certificates Java keystores and encryption

• Familiarity with network and file transfer protocols including TCP/IP FTP SFTP PGP and key-based encryption

• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and HIPAA compliance requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong experience with IRIS Database and backend database analysis

• Experience supporting developer unit testing and utility development

• Prior experience supporting healthcare or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems

• Local to Tallahassee Florida (preferred as the client is moving toward onsite work)

Project Scope

• Support consolidation of 67 HMS/EHR database instances into a centralized cloud platform

• Perform backend database analysis and migration support

• Assist with enhancements bug fixes and modernization activities across HMS components
