About the role
The Progression & Awards Officer (Higher Education) plays a critical role in supporting the academic journey of students by ensuring their progression completion and award processes are managed with accuracy efficiency and care.
Working closely with the Progression & Awards Coordinator and Senior Officer this role contributes to a seamless and compliant student lifecycle from enrolment through to graduation. By maintaining precise academic records and supporting key administrative milestones the Officer helps ensure students experience a smooth and rewarding path to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Progression Management
- Maintain and update course and unit data within student systems
- Assist with progression planning study plans and course transitions
- Ensure accurate student records and audit trails for progression and completion
- Monitor course duration CoE expiries and study load compliance
- Process enrolment changes related to progression including extensions and load variations
Awards & Completion
- Assist with grade audits grade changes and credit/RPL processing
- Identify students eligible for completion and conferral
- Generate completion documentation including transcripts testamurs and letters
Student Support and Communication
- Respond to student enquiries regarding progression and completion in a timely and professional manner
- Provide clear and accurate guidance aligned with institutional policies
Education Experience & Skills
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Business Administration Education or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 12 years experience in student administration or a progression-related role
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes
- Familiarity with higher education compliance requirements and student systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Student Management Systems Learning Management Systems and Microsoft Office 365
- Strong organisational time management and problem-solving skills
