Appeals Specialistfor a Law Firm Billing Department
Hooks Meng & Clement (HMC) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Appeals Specialist to join the HMC Billing team. This role is ideal for a professional who excels at managing insurance claim denials drafting persuasive appeal letters and ensuring accurate and timely reimbursement.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who thrives in both independent and collaborative work environments. This individual must be able to effectively prioritize competing deadlines maintain exceptional attention to detail and perform efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Strong written communication skills and the ability to work cohesively with team members are essential to success in this role.

- Review denied claims or underpaid claims
- Prepare and submit appeals with supporting documentation
- Research payer policies and denial reasons
- Track appeal statuses and follow up with payers
- Communicate with the Billing Manager to gather needed information
- Maintain accurate documentation in billing systems
- Audit clients to ensure appeals are handled promptly
- 1 year experience in law office billing claims or appeals
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
- Knowledge of denial codes & payer guidelines (preferred)
- Auditing skills (strongly preferred)
- Must reside in the Southern Nevada area as this position is in the office
