FTE: .9 Shift: Varies Schedule: 3x12hr shifts per week

Position Summary

The Pediatric Urgent Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) delivers timely compassionate care to children with acute medical needs in a walk-in or extended-hours clinical setting. Working collaboratively with physicians and healthcare teams the APP performs assessments procedures and treatment planning for a wide range of pediatric conditionsensuring access to quality care beyond traditional primary care Independently evaluate and treat pediatric patients presenting with non-emergent illnesses minor injuries infections and other urgent concernsPerform clinical procedures appropriate to training and scope such as wound care splinting abscess drainage foreign body removal and rapid testingOrder and interpret diagnostics including point-of-care labs and radiology to guide clinical decisionsPrescribe medications treatments and referrals per Washington State guidelines for independent APPsEducate patients and families about diagnoses medications follow-up care and warning signsDocument clinical encounters thoroughly and accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)Lead care coordination including appropriate disposition planning and referrals to primary care or specialistsCollaborate effectively with physicians nurses imaging staff and front-desk personnel to support patient flow and care qualitywithout requiring supervisory oversightEngage in peer collaboration clinical meetings and case discussions that enhance practice quality safety and institutional performance goals including efforts related to population health equity quality measures and safety in clinical meetings and improvement initiatives contributing to efforts that enhance patient outcomes and license and appropriate continuing education. Adheres to MHS Attendance and Punctuality Policy and Procedure standards and maintains reliable attendanceRequirementsGraduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant programCurrent Washington State licensure as an ARNP (NP) or PA-C with full prescriptive authorityNational certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or PA-CClinical experience in pediatric urgent care primary care or emergency medicine preferredBLS certificationExcellent autonomy decision-making and patient-centered communication skills

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package including competitive salary medical dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $169461.00 - $178000.00 USD. However pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants including but not limited to: skill set level of experience and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicants years of experience align.
