Job Description
The Actuarial Analyst I position is for entry-level actuarial students.The responsibilities of this position primarily involve learning to perform and communicate complex actuarial analyses such as actuarial exhibits pricing loss reserving financial planning modeling other dataanalysesand other tasks as assigned.This position supports the core actuarial functions (i.e.pricing reserving modeling etc.) responsible for ensuring profitability growth and the financial strength of the organization.Significantmanagementoversightreviewand guidance will be.
This is a 100%in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.
Essential Responsibilities:
Learns fundamental actuarial principles which the Actuarial Analyst Iappliesin analyzing company and industry data to prepare actuarial analysesin accordance withthe CAS code of Professional Conduct and the Actuarial Standards of Practice.
Prepares summaries of actuarial analyses for distribution to Home Office and Field management other American National departments consultants reinsurers and regulators.
Learnsprocesses and begins to perform and document actuarial analyses promptly and accurately.
Learnsandbeginsto use spreadsheets databases and sources of data used in actuarial analyses.
Prepares for and progresses in the CAS examinations through on-the-job and home study.
Qualifications / Experience Required:
ABachelors degree in mathematics statistics economics or a related field with a strong mathematical background is.
No experience.
Supervisory/management experiencenot.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of 100 exam points is preferred.
The base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will becommensuratewith candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost oflaborin that location.
- Albany and Chicago Pay Range: $70000 - $90000
