Cloud Engineer I Softeon

IFS Softeon is seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Operations team and play a key role in managing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS Azure or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and a strong background in infrastructure automation security and performance optimization. A valid AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Administrator certification is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design build and manage cloud infrastructure using platforms like AWS Azure or similar.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform CloudFormation or similar.
• Monitor troubleshoot and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance scalability and cost-efficiency.
• Collaborate with development DevOps and security teams to implement cloud-native architectures and CI/CD processes.
• Monitor cloud systems for performance availability and cost-efficiency.
• Enforce cloud governance compliance and security best practices.
• Support our clients by troubleshooting and resolving issues across cloud environments and applications. Maintain documentation for infrastructure architecture and procedures.

Qualifications :

This role is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence three days a week in Reston VA.

Required 

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• At least one year of experience as a Cloud Engineer DevOps Engineer or similar role 
• Mandatory: One of the following valid certifications:

1. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional 
2. Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator 
3. Oracle Cloud Architect Associate or Professional

• Strong scripting skills (e.g. Bash Python Go)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g. Docker Kubernetes).
• Deep understanding of cloud security identity management and networking.

Preferred

• Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud deployments. 
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (e.g. Jenkins GitHub Actions) 
• Proficiency in cloud cost optimization and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g. CloudWatch Prometheus ELK).
