This is a full-time position located at the Maine State Prison in Warren and the DHHS in Rockland.
Currently this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or STEM OPT extensions.
Core Responsibilities:
As an Intensive Case Manager at the Intensive Mental Health Unit (IMHU) you will:
- Provide professional services work in intensive case management for a targeted group of high-risk mental health clients in the IMHU at Maine State Prison in Warren. The position requires close collaboration with varied internal and external professionals.
- Advocate for and/or assist clients in gaining access to and maintaining medical psychiatric behavioral health and other necessary support services upon discharge from the IMHU.
- Knowledge of and keeping abreast of statewide section 17 services and the processes to access the resources.
- Knowledge of and navigation of the criminal justice system and the intersections with behavioral health services and corrections.
Minimum Qualifications:
An Associates Degree in one of the Social or Behavioral Sciences and 4 years experience in professional level mental health work -OR- a Bachelors Degree in one of the Social or Behavioral Sciences and two (2) years experience in professional level mental health work -OR- a Masters Degree in one of the Social or Behavioral Sciences. Equivalent work experience in professional level mental health work may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
Candidates must have or be eligible for a Mental Health Rehabilitation Community Certification (MHRT/C) as issued by the Muskie School of Public Service or a Social Work License (LSW).

- Describe your professional experience working with people who have serious persistent mental illness and co-occurring diagnoses.
- Describe your professional knowledge of and experience accessing mental health substance use medical psychiatric and housing resources for consumers.
- Describe your experience providing professional services to mental health consumers in a correctional setting.
