Intro/Program Description:Goddard Riverside is a well-established Manhattan community-based agency with an annual operating budget of approximately $50 million. Goddard Riverside is one of New York Citys leading human service organizations meeting the basic needs of children youth and families homeless people and older adults across Manhattan and New York City.

Position Summary:Under the supervision of theDirector of Community Engagement & Success theTeen Expansion Program (TEP) Managerwillbe responsible for but not limited to the following duties:

  • Demonstrated ability to planconductand supervise personnel recreationalprogramsand services

  • Ability to communicate effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds ages12-19as well as a range of other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional manner

  • Must be highly motivated and dedicated to the organizational mission

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills areessential

Schedule:30 hours per week

Hourly Rate: $25.00/hr



Qualifications

Roles Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Be available to work weekendsand on callon day(s) not on site.

  • Assistwith planning and developing programactivitiestoensure that activities and events are made available for allparticipants

  • Implement recreation programs to ensure that members have access toallactivities

  • Administer recreation programs to ensure that programs are delivered within guidelines and budgets

  • Promoterecreational programsorder to ensure that members are aware of available opportunities and activities

  • Ensure facilities andmaintainedtoensure a safe clean andappropriate environmentfor recreation activities

  • Assistwith planning and developing recreation programstoensure that activities and events are made available for all members

  • Implement recreation programs to ensure that members have access to sportrecreationand leisure activities

  • Administer recreation programs to ensure that programs are delivered within guidelines and budgets

  • Promote recreational programstoensure that members are aware of available opportunities and activities

  • Ensure recreation facilities andmaintainedtoensure a safe clean andappropriate environmentfor recreation activities

  • Collaborate withsummer staffin the planning development and execution of quality project-based youth development activities& workshops

  • Develop andmaintainpositive and professional relationships with participants families &staff

  • Coordinate events & functions in specialty areasuch as:showcases exhibits productions culminating eventsetc

  • Engage participants in specialty area activities

  • Provide support through encouragement and delivering resources

  • Serve as a role model to youth alwaysmaintainingprofessionalism and preparedness.

  • Utilizepositiveyouth development strategiestoresolve behavioral challenges and celebrate youth achievement.

  • Participatepre-programand ongoingprofessional developmentopportunitiesand daily staff meetings in addition to formal feedback and coaching:

  • Implement all health and safety protocols asrequired.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/HSE/GEDassociatesdegreeis preferred

  • Willingness to learn & continue learning and developing through this role

  • Demonstrated sensitivity& respectof teenagers and young adults and your community

  • Strongcommunicationskills

  • Comfortable using technologyie. Smartphones email accounts MicrosoftOfficeand/or Google Docs

  • Be available to work weekends and on call on day(s) not on site.
