We are tackling climate change conserving lands waters and oceans at unprecedented scale providing food and water sustainably and helping make cities more sustainable. To implement these priorities we collaborate actively in a non-confrontational manner with public sector agencies NGOs academia business and the finance sector.

The Business Development Specialist II leads the coordination writing and editing for a variety of public funding proposals and projects across global and regional teams.

This is a two-year term-limited position with an anticipated end date of June 30 2028. This position is negotiable within select regions (Africa Asia Pacific Caribbean and Latin America) in countries where TNC is authorized to conduct business.

The Business Development Specialist II serves as a proposal manager and writer with responsibility for coordinating writing and reviewing a variety of public funding proposals and projects that are responsive to and compliant with The Nature Conservancys key international public funding partners. Their specific projects may include supporting global and regional teams (including in Africa Asia Pacific Latin America and Caribbean) with coordinating development and submission of proposals preparing and/or writing proposal materials designing project theories of change drafting proposal budgets and developing proposal development tools and resources. They serve as an expert resource to global and regional teams working on public funding proposals and play a lead role in strengthening proposal development capacity and learning while contributing to The Nature Conservancy public funding strategy and global/regional targets.

What Youll Bring:

  • Bachelors degree in related field and a minimum 7 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience writing reviewing and editing public funding proposals.
  • Experience implementing and managing multiple complex projects including public funding proposals.

  • Experience designing organization-wide public funding and proposal development tools.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Salary Information:

This is a two-year term-limited position with an anticipated end date of June 30 2028. This position is negotiable within select regions (Africa Asia Pacific Caribbean and Latin America) in countries where TNC is authorized to conduct business. This position may be based in any country where TNC has an established entity taking into consideration legal restrictions such as non-national ratios and immigration processing times. For U.S. based applicants only the starting pay range for this position is generally within the range of $83000-$132000 for annual base salary and is based on location qualifications specific skills and experience. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. For all other applicants pay ranges will be in local currency the pay range will be based on the local labor market and not tied to the above pay range. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment and used to determine your actual pay range. Additionally for all applicants actual pay will fall within a range based on a variety of factors including for example the candidates qualifications specific skills and experience.
