We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Area Sales Manager to drive sales and market expansion for agri-input products (seeds fertilizers pesticides crop protection products) across Telangana. The role involves managing dealer networks achieving sales targets and building strong relationships with farmers and channel partners. Proficiency in Telugu is essential for effective field engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth within the assigned territory
Develop and manage a strong network of dealers distributors and retailers
Execute sales strategies for seeds pesticides and crop protection products
Conduct regular field visits to meet farmers dealers and influencers
Provide technical guidance and product demonstrations to farmers
Monitor market trends competitor activities and pricing strategies
Plan and execute promotional activities such as farmer meetings field days and demos
Ensure timely collections and manage credit control in coordination with finance teams
Track inventory movement and coordinate with supply chain for product availability
Prepare and submit sales reports forecasts and MIS
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the agri ecosystem
Key Requirements:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Agriculture or MBA in Agri-Business/Marketing
8-10 years of experience in agri-input sales (seeds fertilizers pesticides etc.)
Strong understanding of regional crops soil conditions and farming practices in Telangana
Proven track record of achieving sales targets
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Fluency in Telugu (mandatory)
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools
Preferred Skills:
Strong dealer/distributor management experience
Experience in conducting farmer engagement programs
Ability to analyze market data and make strategic decisions
Leadership skills to manage field sales teams (if applicable)
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Achievement of monthly/quarterly sales targets
Expansion of dealer/distributor network
Collection efficiency and reduction in outstanding receivables
Market share growth in the assigned territory
