As an IT Support Technician Intern a typical day might include some of the following:
Install and configure computer hardware operatingsystems and applications
Monitor and maintain computer systems andnetworks
Troubleshoot system and network problemsdiagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
Asking targeted questions to quicklyunderstand the root of the problem to diagnose and troubleshoot networksoftware and hardware issues
Walking the customer through the problem-solvingprocess either via phone email chat remote desktop applications oron-site as required
Recording events and problems and theirresolution in logs
Following up with clients to ensure their ITsystems are fully functional after troubleshooting
Set up new users accounts and profiles and dealwith password issues
Passing on any feedback or suggestions bycustomers to the appropriate internal team
Properly escalating unresolved issues toappropriate internal delivery teams
Documenting technical knowledge in the form ofnotes and manuals including procedural documentation and relevant reports
Identifying and suggesting possible improvementson procedures
Support the roll-out of new applications
Prioritise and manage many open cases at one time
Assess current state of ID Fusion and clientsystems and provide recommendations fornew/replacement systems
Test and evaluate new technology
Eligibility Requirements
This opportunity is for First Nation Inuit or Métis students who attended post-secondary school full-time during the current academic year and who are returning to school on a full-time basis in the upcoming academic year. (part-time and distance education students do not qualify).
