Under the direction of the Collections Manager of the Escalette Permanent Art Collection an academic unit of Wilkinson College of Arts Humanities and Social Sciences the Collections Assistant will help ensure the safety and stewardship of the collection by assisting with a broad range of collections management and registration tasks. These tasks include assisting with the maintenance of exhibition spaces and light cleaning of objects on display reporting on the condition of objects on display updating the Escalette Collections collections management system and providing support for object handling and transportation. This position will also help enforce exhibition and display policies and be familiar with the Escalette Collections Emergency Response guidelines.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Collections Manager and using accepted standards provide support with object handling packing and transporting objects. Conduct routine condition reports of collections objects on display. Assist with the maintenance and light cleaning of exhibition spaces and objects on display. Conduct routine security walk-throughs to ensure the safety of artwork on display. Assist with inventories and photography of collection as needed. Update general data in object records in The Museum System ( TMS ) the Escalette Collections Collection Management System. Be familiar with the Escalette Collections Emergency Response Policy and other policies related to artwork on display. Other duties as assigned.

Strong attention to detail patience and interest in meticulous work. Desire to learn new skills and programs. Dependability consistency and organization. Ability to follow procedures and policies. Ability to work well individually and collaboratively as a team.
