The Branch of Natural Resources is seeking applicants aged 14 to 18 for the summer youth crew consisting of 8 High School students. Applicants must perform tasks as part of a work crew in various locations on the Warm Springs Reservation and The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs Ceded lands. Applicants should have a strong interest in Natural Resources and the ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time.
Requirements
Good communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to follow directives and the willingness to explore multi-facets of a work environment (indoors & outdoors) are required. Knowledge awareness and experience using various hand tools power and other landscaping tools/equipment needed. Applicants should be in good physical condition able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and walk or hike over various terrain. Must successfully pass a pre-employment walk test (exceptions can be made for persons with recognized or diagnosed medical or physical conditions) in addition to a drug screening prior to hire. Out of area (in state) travel in addition to supervised overnight trips will be required on occasion.
