The Temporary Summer Help Custodian is responsible for assisting with summer cleaning maintenance and facility preparation projects throughout the district. This position supports the custodial and maintenance staff in maintaining a clean safe and orderly environment in school buildings and on district grounds during the summer months.
REPORTS TO: Director of Athletics Facilities and School Safety
SALARY: $18.00/hour (based on experience)
WORK LOCATION: District-Wide
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday up to 40 hours per week. Schedule to be determined.
EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: July 13 2026 September 3 2026
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum age of 16 years preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; current high school or college students are encouraged to apply
Self-directed responsible and reliable
Ability to successfully work both independently and cooperatively with others
Maintain good attendance and job commitment
Ability to perform physical labor in indoor and outdoor environments
Prior custodial maintenance landscaping or related experience preferred
Complete (at applicants expense) State-mandated Criminal Background Check if required
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with deep cleaning of classrooms offices hallways cafeterias locker rooms and other assigned areas.
Sweep mop scrub strip and wax floors as directed.
Clean furniture fixtures walls windows and equipment.
Empty trash and recycling receptacles and dispose of waste according to district procedures.
Clean and disinfect restrooms and high-touch surfaces.
MAINTENANCE AND FACILITY SUPPORT
Assist with moving furniture equipment and classroom materials.
Help prepare classrooms and buildings for the upcoming school year.
Assist with minor maintenance projects under the direction of district staff.
Restock custodial supplies and materials as needed.
GROUNDS AND SAFETY
Assist with maintaining district grounds including litter removal weeding landscaping and other seasonal tasks.
Help maintain safe and clean building entrances sidewalks and exterior areas.
Follow all district safety procedures and guidelines.
INSPECTION AND REPORTING
Report maintenance safety or custodial concerns to supervisors.
Assist with special cleaning projects and facility preparations as assigned.
OTHER DUTIES
Operate cleaning equipment safely and appropriately after training.
Follow all district policies procedures and safety protocols.
Perform other duties as assigned to support summer operations.
