A luxury game lodge in KwaZulu-Natal is seeking a detail-oriented and guest-focused Reservationist to manage bookings and ensure a seamless reservation experience from enquiry through to arrival. The ideal candidate will have a strong administrative background excellent communication skills and a passion for hospitality and wildlife tourism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all reservation enquiries via email telephone and online platforms in a timely and professional manner
- Accurately capture and update bookings on the lodges reservation system
- Provide guests and agents with detailed information regarding rates availability lodge facilities and activities
- Prepare and send quotations confirmations and invoices
- Follow up on provisional bookings and convert enquiries into confirmed reservations
- Liaise with travel agents tour operators and direct guests
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lodge offerings promotions and policies
- Coordinate with front-of-house and operations teams to ensure smooth guest arrivals and special requests
- Assist with room allocations and maximize occupancy levels
- Handle cancellations amendments and refunds in line with lodge policies
- Ensure all guest information and preferences are accurately recorded
Requirements
- Previous experience in a reservations or front office role within hospitality (preferably in a lodge or hotel environment)
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and reservation systems (e.g. ResRequest NightsBridge Opera or similar)
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
- Professional and well-presented
Preferred Skills & Attributes:
- Knowledge of the safari/lodge industry in KwaZulu-Natal
- Experience working with international travel agents and guests
- Strong sales ability with a focus on converting enquiries
- Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
- Team player with a positive and adaptable approach
