Group and Individual Reservationist

Job Summary
- To ensure that all reservations requested are entered or responded to quickly and accurately and confirmed accordingly within the company turnaround policy.
- To check all reservations/bookings downloaded from Central Reservation Office confirm send correspondence where necessary
- To ensure that all banqueting & events reservations requests are entered or responded to quickly and accurately and confirmed accordingly within the company turnaround policy.
- Ensuring that reservation events policies and procedures regarding payments confirmations& terms and conditions are effectively adhered to and in line with a 5-star Hotel.
- To assist the Sales & Marketing department in promoting and selling the hotels & the facilities to prospective guests.
- Ensuring and adhering to effective communication from the reservations / banqueting department to all operational departments.
- To ensure that room type overbooking is managed far in advance to avoid hotel overbooking.
- To ensure that deposits and contracts are received timeously correctly and to report any deviations to the Reservations Manager.
- To be fully aware of the trends in the industry and make suggestions for the improvement of hotel occupancy.
- General Office and Admin duties.
- Maintaining all guest/agent/company profiles in Opera.
- Handling guest Queries.
- Any other relevant duties.
- At least 2 years experience in Individual and Group/Block Reservations is essential.
- Banqueting / Events Booking experience essential.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- INFOR Individual and Group/Block Reservations experience (Essential)
- INFOR Front Office and Cashiering functions an advantage.
- Excellent administration skills.
- Setting up of group contracts and invoices.
- Good understanding of Revenue Control & Yield Management.
- Fluent in English verbal and written.
- Excellent telephonic and written communication skills.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Time management skills.
- Display a high level of emotional intelligence.
- Ability to work alone as well as with a small team.
- Customer orientation professional charm and sophistication is an advantage.
- Presentable.
- Ability to work shifts and occasional overtime.
- Grade 12
- Front Office NQ Level 2 or other relevant tertiary qualifications an advantage.
Required Skills:
