We are looking for a dynamic organized self-starter to join our Product Support and Logistics Division as a Training Specialist in Peoria IL.

Job Summary:

As the Training Specialist you will support the design development and delivery of technical training modules and courses in Basic Diesel Engines Basic Machine Components Machine System Orientation Program Cat Electric Power I Product Link Elite for Data Centers and Workplace Assessor for dealers customers and internal-facing employees to maintain and enhance job-related technical competence.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and deliver instructor-led technical training in Basic Diesel Engines Basic Machine Components Machine System Orientation Program Cat Electric Power I Product Link Elite for Data Centers and Workplace Assessor.
  • Design update and maintain technically accurate course materials assessments and hands-on lab activities in collaboration with instructional designers and SMEs.
  • Conduct technician competency and skills assessments; analyze results to identify gaps and drive targeted training improvements
  • Ensure training delivery and materials comply with technical standards safety requirements and organizational policies.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness using performance metrics and ROI data; implement continuous improvements.
  • Partner with product and industry teams to align training with current products strategies and operational initiatives.
  • Maintain training labs tooling and equipment; support updates and capital equipment planning.
  • Collaborate with the global instructor network to standardize content share best practices and improve program effectiveness.

What You Have (Required Skills):

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches tools techniques for recognizing anticipating and resolving organizational operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Technical Expertise: High level understanding of engine and generator set systems: Air & Exhaust Fuel Cooling Lubrication and electrical systems.

What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Skills):

  • 5 years of experience as a technician technical support and classroom instructor or related experience
  • Mechanical/Electrical degree apprenticeship or comparable job experience
  • Understanding of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) electrical and mechanical safety practices.
  • Caterpillar Instructor Accreditation Program (CIAP) certification or ability to complete within six months.
  • Proven ability to deliver technical trainings to diverse multi-cultural audiences.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills including experience with ET SIS and TMI.
  • Working knowledge of Caterpillar generator sets and control systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety quality and high instructional standards.
  • Strong computer skills with experience developing training materials (desktop publishing).

Summary Pay Range:

$89210.00 - $133810.00
