Product Designer

• Discovery and framing:Partner with product engineering and operations to understand user problems business goals and technical constraints and translate them into clear design direction.
• End-to-end design:Lead end-to-end design for features and flows - from problem framing and research synthesis to wireframes high-fidelity designs prototypes and final specs in Figma.
• Design system ownership:Build and evolve DREEFs design system in Figma: components tokens patterns and documentation that engineers can confidently implement.
• User research:Run lightweight user research and usability testing with internal and external users; translate findings into clear design decisions and iteration plans.
• Data-dense UX:Design data-dense screens thoughtfully - dashboards configuration flows and operational tools where clarity density and edge-case handling matter as much as aesthetics.
• AI-accelerated design:Use Claude Code and other AI tools as part of your workflow - to prototype quickly validate ideas in real code pair with engineers and shorten the distance between a design and a working experience.
• Design QA and handoff:Pair closely with engineers throughout implementation; review builds flag regressions and help the team ship pixel-aware accessible interfaces.
• Accessibility:Champion accessibility (WCAG) inclusivity and responsive behavior across products and flows.
• Brand and visual craft:Contribute to DREEFs visual identity marketing touchpoints and product narrative where it supports the user experience.
• Mentorship:Mentor more junior designers and set quality bars across the team through critique documentation and shared standards.

• Experience:3 years of product design experience shipping complex web (and ideally B2B / operational) products to real users.
• Figma:Deep proficiency in Figma: components variants auto-layout variables/tokens prototyping libraries branching and team collaboration features.
• Portfolio:A strong portfolio demonstrating interaction design visual design and systems thinking - with clear stories about the problem process decisions and outcome.
• Claude Code:Demonstrated experience using Claude Code (or a comparable AI coding assistant) in your design workflow - prototyping in code generating or inspecting components or collaborating with engineers directly in the codebase.
• Design-engineering fluency:Solid understanding of modern frontend capabilities and constraints (HTML CSS and React) - enough to design with implementation realities in mind and collaborate effectively with engineers.
• Design systems:Experience building extending or maintaining a design system including tokens components and documentation.
• Design fundamentals:Strong fundamentals in information architecture interaction design typography color layout and accessibility.
• User research:Comfortable running user research and usability testing with modest resources and translating findings into action.
• Communication:Clear structured communication - verbal written and visual - especially when explaining trade-offs to product engineering and non-design stakeholders.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing energy climate utilities IoT or other operational / data-heavy domains.
• Motion and interaction prototyping skills (Figma prototyping Rive Framer or similar).
• Experience designing internal tools or admin/operator interfaces.
• Writing public speaking or open design contributions (e.g. shared libraries articles talks).
• Basic ability to ship small UI changes directly in a React codebase with engineering review.
