Business Development Lead

A leading South African payment solutions provider thatfacilitates secure bill payments prepaid services and traffic fines via online platforms and a vast retail network is seeking adynamic proactive Business Development Lead to drive exponential transaction growth. This role balances high-level strategy with hands-on execution focusing on optimizing existing accounts and onboarding high-volume strategic billers.

Responsibilities:

• Growth & Acquisition: Drive transaction volumes by sourcing and onboarding new high-volume billers while scaling existing accounts.

• Relationship Management: Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders and manage strategic partnerships with banks and referral networks.

• Innovation: Identify and implement creative payment solutions to expand the Pay@ service offering.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison between clients and internal teams; partner with Marketing to boost brand presence.

• Operational Excellence: Oversee smooth service delivery for all biller activities and provide detailed reporting on sales performance and forecasts.

• Education: Relevant tertiary qualification.

• Experience: 58 years of experience in the payments or financial industry featuring referenceable enterprise-level sales and CRM success.

• Industry Knowledge: Deep expertise in the payments ecosystem including retail digital banking card schemes EFT and settlement/acquiring.

• Logistics: Valid drivers license and own vehicle; ability to travel frequently.

• Language: Fluency in business English (additional languages are a beneficial bonus).
