Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Nationally Certified (Inpatient)

Job Type: Contract (26 Weeks)
Assignment Details:
- Shift: Rotating Day/Evening Shift
- Schedule: 5 x 8-hour shifts (40 hours/week)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: Rotating holidays
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient pharmacy operations in a hospital setting. The technician will assist pharmacists in medication preparation distribution inventory management and regulatory compliance while ensuring high standards of patient care and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Review and process medication orders for patient care units
- Prepare package label and distribute medications accurately
- Maintain medication inventory including monitoring expiration dates and restocking supplies
- Process medication returns and assist with billing documentation
- Pre-package bulk medications into unit-dose containers
- Maintain accurate records and comply with regulatory documentation requirements
- Answer and triage phone calls directing clinical inquiries to pharmacists
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy department
- Provide excellent customer service to patients families and healthcare staff
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician Registration required
- PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of recent Pharmacy Technician experience (within the past 3 years); 3 years preferred
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English
