Spotsylvania County Public Schools is seeking a Title I Instructional Support Specialist to provide targeted instructional support to classroom teachers to strengthen Tier I instruction and improve student outcomes. This role focuses on implementing high-quality evidence-based instructional practices analyzing student data to inform instruction and supporting professional learning aligned with school improvement goals. Communication and relationship building will be critical to this role as the Specialist works collaboratively with teachers instructional teams and administration to promote academic success for all students especially those at risk of not meeting grade-level standards.
Essential Functions:
Collaborates with classroom teachers to enhance Tier I instruction through modeling co-teaching lesson planning and instructional coaching
Leverages data-driven practices to support the implementation of effective instructional strategies in reading math and/or science
Demonstrates and models research-based strategies for high-quality literacy math and science instruction that are aligned with district curriculum and standards
Analyzes division school grade-level and classroom data to identify trends and make informed instructional decisions
Provides job-embedded professional development focused on evidence-based instructional practices and differentiation
Supports teachers with the implementation of division curriculum and creation of reflective pacing guides
Assists in the development and use of formative assessments to guide instruction and monitor student progress
Participates in the schools instructional leadership team and contributes to the school improvement planning process
Provides support in the integration of technology and digital resources into instruction
Works closely with curriculum and content specialists instructional coaches school administrators and instructional sta to promote consistent aligned instructional practices across all schools
Maintains accurate records of coaching cycles teacher collaboration and student data as required by the Title I program
Engages in structured coaching cycles with identified teachers to provide focused job-embedded support in planning and implementing effective Tier I instruction
Remains current with research and best practices in curriculum instruction and assessment
Encourages a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating reflective dialogue among teachers and leaders
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university
Currently possesses a Virginia Collegiate Professional or Postgraduate Professional License within a specific endorsement area(s)
Successful and transferable experience working with at-risk children in support of their academic achievement
Preferred
Three (3) years of successful teaching experience (preferably within a Title I school)
An acceptable rating of prior teaching experience as applicable
