Job Description:
Duties:
Preside over IDC process and hearings.
Ensure charges against inmates are supported by substantial evidence in the record due processes are met and generate complete and accurate records of the IDC hearing.
Conduct fair and impartial hearings in accordance with NDCS rules state statutes court decision and opinions of the NDCS General Counsel.
Work assignments may entail many separate phases or a variety of different administrative processes.
Problem solving scenarios typically involve analysis or review of multiple or associated cases materials or circumstances to determine an appropriate action decision or solution requiring substantive knowledge of the agencys programs and compliance requirements.
Receive review and investigate inmate grievances ensuring confidentiality and fairness.
Document all steps maintain accurate records and track grievance data.
Analyze trends to identify systemic issues and recommend improvements.
Prepare reports and presentations for leadership review.
Ensure compliance with legal and policy requirements.
Collaborate with staff administrators and legal counsel on complex cases.
Develop and deliver staff training on grievance handling and conflict resolution.
Monitor and evaluate grievance resolution effectiveness.
Serve as liaison between inmates and administration promoting transparency.
Participate in related meetings committees and audits.
Be available to the inmate population during noon meals; sample meals for quality.
Respond promptly to urgent grievances and guide appeal processes.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in public or business administration accounting or any discipline related to the work assigned. One year of experience in planning organizing and implementing program administrative or business financial functions. Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in writing letters/responses; experience in verbal communication with the inmate population administration and the public; experience in investigations.
Other: Must have a valid drivers license. Transcripts required prior to appointment. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams; medical exam and drug testing. Once at the Staff Training Academy must successfully complete the fully pain NE Corrections Training Program.
